Sawyer came into rescue 2/26/2004. We got a call from Sarasota Animal Services that they had taken in an un-neutered stray and his five days were up. Would we be interested in him. Of course we were! AS estimated his age at 8 months which is pretty darned close.Sawyer is ALL puppy!

We brought Sawer home to meet our crew of six and one cat and were amazed at how fast he just "fit in" with the other loonies. We have a house full of "high drive" dogs and Sawyer is certainly one of those. He goes and goes and goes... He's not for the faint of heart. He pulls on a lead, jumps on people, and is a general pain in the butt! He's also very sweet, smart and entirely trainable. He loves to please you once he understands what you want.

We have fostered a crap load of dogs and I've only said this about a few. Sawyer would be one heck of a performance dog! Obedience or agility would be right up his alley. He's got the drive, the smarts, the bidability ...and...he's got great hips! How cool is that! When we had Sawyer neutered we had the vet shoot his hips because of the way he would "bunny hop" when excited. The vet said his hips are great. Is that a guarantee that he'll never have problems? Of course not, but it's sure a step in the right direction.
