This is Sara. She came into rescue on 9/24/01. She's a very cute six months old and only 50 pounds. Sara was turned in because her former owners found her to be too much to handle and besides, she's not completely house-broke yet. Not to worry, we are working on that and she's actually doing really well. We haven't had an accident in the house for several days now. Okay, I know you're just dying to know what happened to her foot.Sara was out back rough housing with our other foster, Bernie, and my juvenile delinquent, Tyler.I hear her yelp, then see her get right up and start playing again <sigh>. The little girl managed to break her toe! She now has to wear that soft cast for the next month and the vet said to keep her calm. Yeah, right!

Sara has been spayed and micro-chipped. She's on heartworm preventative and has been checked by my vet. As a matter of fact, she's going through the "ganglies" because of her age so I had my vet check her hips for funsies. He found no laxity and pronounced her healthy. Sara gets along with all other dogs and loves to play. She does respect the older guys though and won't bother them. Sara even gets along with my CAT. She did chase her once until my cat turned around and nailed her. She hasn't bothered chasing her since <smile>. The only commands she knows so far are "sit" and "go potty". We are working on the "stay".Sara definitely needs to go to obedience school with whomever adopts her.Remember, this is why she was turned in. No manners. She picks things up pretty quickly, so training should be a breeze. Hey! We're doing the hard part for you! The house-breaking.

Is this cute or what? Six month old Sara taking a nap with nine year old Mandy. Mandy is one of our former fosters that we were dog-sitting (yes, we had EIGHT dogs at our house that weekend!). Speaking of napping...Sara is crate trained and makes no fuss at all about going in.

If you are looking for a smaller female, then Sara just might be your girl. I don't think she's going to be very large. She really is very cute and will only get cuter when her coat starts coming in. Don't forget she's a puppy! Puppies aren't for everyone, but if you have some patience and love she will make a wonderful companion. BTW for those of you who find this important...Sara loves to give kisses <smile>.
