FAQ
| Q: You say that Remus gets along with all your
dogs. I have an old dog and also a toy breed. Would he get along with my
dogs? A: Not knowing your dogs I can't say for sure. We have a 12 year old that he respects and leaves alone. We don't have toy dogs but he has been exposed to them and has never had a problem. Remus has spent extended time at places like PetsMart, ect... and has been fine with every dog he meets. Will he "bother" your dog? Maybe, he loves to play. We don't allow "playing" in the hose so it hasn't been a problem here. Now the backyard is a different story. Q: Okay, what about my two cats then? A: Not a problem. If kitty runs he might chase, but he won't eat your cat. If your cat stands it's ground and bats at him he's going to get out of there :) He's actually kind of wussy. Q: We have two children under six and my frail eighty year old mother lives with us. Would he be okay with them? A: NO. It's not because he's aggressive (far from it) but, he gets wound up and might accidentally knock them down. We have been working on this and he's come light years, but don't forget, he's still that six month old in a four year old body. Q: Is he housebroken? A: Yup. Even better...he's crate trained! Q: Do we have to keep him in a crate? Can he be left alone? A: Remus loves his crate and goes in with a simple "crate up" command. I would not leave him alone yet as he still likes to get into mischief. We don't crate him at night and he's just fine, never bothered a thing. Q: Does Remus know any commands and do I need to take him to obedience school? A: He does now. Lets see...we've been working on sit, crate up, leave it, get back, wait and a few others. As you can see, the ones we have been working on are mainly focused on learning to live in a house. He's done extremely well. Yes, he should go to obedience school to learn a reliable recall as well as a down, stay, etc... Besides, what better way is there to bond with a dog that lives just to please you? Q: Okay, spill the beans. What are Remus's negatives? A: Alright, you asked. He is needy. That means he likes to be where you are. If you go to the bathroom, he'll follow you :) He's very active (not hyper). This means he needs to exerscise and he will do it all on his own if you give him a safe fenced area to do it in. Not a negative for me, but he likes to lay on the couch next to you. He is quite content then and never a bother. He's not the worlds smartest dog. Hey...I ain't the worlds smartest human so I overlook this. Q: I don't know, what would want me to really want to adopt Remus? What are his "good" qualities? A: He will make you LAUGH. Yes, he can be aggravating, but the laughs and love he provide far outweigh the negatives! He's a fun dog and is definitely not for the weak at heart. Let's see, he's very sweet and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. You can take him anywhere. Other dogs seem to take him for what he is...a pain in the butt, but a harmless pain in the butt. Let's see, he's really very pretty and will impress all your friends :) If you have a young dog at home that likes to play they will thank you. The bottom line is that this is a great dog and he's going to make someone very happy. Just remember...you have to know how to LAUGH! |
