Mark and Mac's Page

What a pair these two are! Both have been in rescue for an extremely long time now and both are as sweet as candy. Go figure. As different as they are they have decided to become the best of buds. As different as they are, they are a lot alike. It's kind of like...

   Well, you know...
"Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't". Either way you're a winner. They're both good!

Meet Mark. He's our "Almond Joy". Mark is five years old and what many would consider a handful. He loves people and lets it be known. He does calm down after the initial meeting. Mark has been through obedience school and did quite well thank you very much :) He is good with other dogs, cats, and older children that are willing to let him know they don't want to be knocked over with enthusiasm. Mark is not for the faint of heart. He lives life to its fullest. You won't find a more fun loving or sweet dog.

This is our Mounds.Sweet and easy to take. Makinney (Mac) was saved from a west coast animal shelter where he was scheduled to be put down. When Sally Anne and I went to take a look there was no way we were going to let that happen. Mac was way underweight and his face was a mess from God know's what. Obviously this dog had been abused. He wouldn't even look at us and we had to carry him out. He obviously wasn't 100% Golden either, but guess what. It didn't matter to us. There was something worth saving there!

Mac is the easiest dog I have ever fostered. Man...I love him. It took a good month before he would trust me. Have I ever been rewarded for my patience. He is still very wary of strangers and therefore doesn't show well. He is not aggressive! Far from it. He is though distrustfull of new people at first. He warms up quick. Mac gets along great with other dogs and cats. Young children would probably scare him. He is great in "public' and loves to go places. Mac is E-A-S-Y. Our vet puts his age at between 5 and 6.

Ya'll have no idea how much I want to keep Mac with me, but I can't. I have too many dogs now. After over 30 fosters, he is that special. Are you special enough for him?
