Meet the Sarasota Senior Gals. Cleo (on the left) came into rescue weighing 116 pounds. Not to be out done, Alexis (on the right) came in weighing a whopping 121 pounds. Both of these ladies have have been checked by our vet and are in great health. You gotta admit They are cute!

This is Cleo. This girl has PERSONALITY PLUS! Cleo came into rescue when we received a call that said we either pick her up that night or she was going to the pound! Cleo has already dropped over 16 pounds since coming into rescue. She is 9 years old but you would never know it. Cleo would make an excellent therapy dog. She makes everyone smile with her antics. She is being fostered in Sarasota with Linda and her Golden, Katie. Cleo gets along with other dogs and CATS. Cleo's thyroid level is on the borderline so she takes a .02 mg. tab of Thyrozine twice a day. This is a MINIMAL dosage and gives her an excuse to be overweight...NOT! Be prepared with this girl. If you leave the house, she insists on going with you. This girl likes to be on the go all the time. DON'T be fooled by her age. This girlfriend has a lot to offer.

This is Miss Alexis. She was turned in by a family who was moving to a new home that did not allow dogs. It was very hard for me to take her because you could tell her old family loved her very much. Alexis is also being fostered by Linda and Katie. They have her on a diet and hope she will start to shed some of those pounds. She gets along fine with other dogs but CATS are a no, no with this girl. She is very sweet and loves to be petted. Alexis is about 8 and 1/2 years old. Alexis is a southern lady through and through. She would be perfect for someone living in a small house or condo or perhaps has no fence. A good walk every day would suit her fine. She loves to meet other people and is super friendly. We had our vet run a thyroid panel on Alexis just to be safe and it came back normal. Unlike Cleo her only excuse to be overweight is that she likes to eat. Other than her weight, she is in great shape and has lots of love to give!
