Cassidy Goes Home
 Cassidy's story continued.

Cassidy is crate trained and will go in his crate on command,  then must be rewarded immediately! He loves his treats (including crunchy baby carrots!) and will sometime pull the "nuttin' for free" attitude,  but with the right motivation Mr. Cass is showing us all how smart he really is. He LOVES to be in the spotlight and will do anything for attention. He loves to grab the laundry and steal things around the house. His foster mother has been diligent in teaching him that this is a major NO-NO so he's been very good about this as long as he thinks you're WATCHING.  While Cassidy still can be slick at times, he is improving on his "house manners" every day. He is learning to not to beg while his people are eating, not to steal food, jump on people, and to be compliant when told to do something... Cassidy has been very good about understanding which furniture belongs to the people and which furniture belongs to the dogs!  He is very much a typical young male dog going through his "teenage years",  and will challenge authority with a little "back talk" from time to time. Cassidy is NOT aggressive,  only mouthy at times as he has NO problem expressing himself whatsoever.  His foster mother has to show him who's boss and sometimes he will get a "time-out". This smart boy knows exactly what he is supposed to do,  but some days he will be in "one of his moods" and other days his foster mom says he's "GOOD AS GOLD".  We are looking for a home where his new owners will continue his training, be patient and consistent with him. He loves praise, so DEDICATION AND LOVE is a must for Cassidy to be successful in his new forever home. He is around a year and a half old going on two;  he still has time yet to fully mature... and needs a loving owner who is willing to ride out this last leg of his adolescence!

Cassidy Continued

Cassidy walks well on the leash and enjoys seeing new things...he is very inquisitive. His foster mom reports he is downright NOSEY and cannot resist checking out paper bags or anything that catches his interest around the house. If there's a full bag, box, or basket, Mr. Cass is more than happy to "help" you unload it... He is learning over time that some things are OFF LIMITS,  all part of his "good manners" training... He is a Road Hound and LOVES riding in the car, checking out the world flying by with his head out the window. Cassidy will bark at the motorcycles,  lets them know to MOVE out of his way, and wags his tail when other drivers wave at him... He makes eye contact with them and will sometimes bark "Hey!",  he knows he is an IRRESISTIBLE SHOW-OFF! He loves going to Petsmart or to the park for long walks,  anywhere there are interesting people for him to meet and new things for him to see! This dog likes to be kept busy, busy, busy..... and needs an active person willing to take him out on a regular basis so he doesn't get bored and stays out of trouble! Mr. Cass is ALWAYS game for something new...

OH WE NEED TO BRAG HERE...CASSIDY PASSED HIS FIRST TEMPERAMENT TEST TO BE A SERVICE DOG WITH A VERY WELL KNOWN, NATIONAL ORGANIZATION WHICH IS NOT EASY TO DO AND WE ARE PROUD OF HIM......however we feel that Mr. Cassidy needs a home NOW not 6 mos down the road after extensive training...He has been moved around enough in his short life and needs stability at this point so please consider this special boy. Cassidy is in great health and has perfect hips per xrays....he is ready to go! If you are interested in Cassidy please go to our website www.goldenrescueinnaples.petfinder.com and click on the adoption process. Please read the adoption process page and also print out an application. THIS IS THE VERY FIRST STEP of the adoption process. After we receive your application one of our volunteers will call you within 1-3 days to talk with you about Mr. Cassidy.
