I'm John and this is my beautiful wife Gail. We reside
in Sarasota, Fl and have lived here for 25 years now. Gail and
I have always had dogs. Lets see...at different times in our
lives we have had a Doberman, Rhodesian Ridgeback,St. Bernard,
Poodle, Norwegian Elkhound, Boxer, Dalmation, German Shorthaired
Pointer and of course, many mutts. Now we have the Goldens, a Flat-Coated
Retriever and of course...a mutt... we're hooked! We have learned more about
dogs in the last ten years than in our previous 100
years combined! Now I guess ya'll can get an idea of how old we are :) Whew!
That's a long time of experiences. DOGS...they've always been a part of both
of our lives. Now they consume our lives:) We have one dog that Gail finished to a Championship and many Obedience titles on some of the other dogs. We have been involved with Golden Retriever rescue for eleven years now. I was S.W. Coordinator for Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid-Florida for five years and a former board member (as well as webmaster) for Golden Rescue In Naples. I teach a Novice and Open obedience class at Sarasota Obedience Training Club, former webmaster for Southern Skies Flat-Coated Retriever Club, serve on Sarasota's Animal Welfare Advisory Committee and I'm a Pet Shelter manager for Sarasota County's Emergency Services. I'm also a member of the Golden Retriever Club Of America, The Flat-Coated Retriever Society Of America, Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club, Florida Gulf Coast Golden Retriever Club and the Greater Venice Florida Dog Club. Yes...it's making me dizzy just writing about it but we wouldn't change a thing! |
